The following information was provided during the Summer of 2005 by Mary Harmon (harm8308@bellsouth.net)

Date: 1831
Description: Evans, William, Colonel, Thirty-Second Regt., SC Militia,
Petition and Supporting Paper asking compensation for powder ordered
from A. L. Scarborough for his unit. (4-pages). (Addison died 1831)
Note: This may be our Addison Scarborough. If so, his middle initial
was "L".
Note: Addison's Father David Scarborough, died in 1774 & it looks like
1784 when Addison moved to S.C.
Note: Addison's 2-brothers, Major James Scarborough and Samuel
Scarborough were living in N.C. when they filed for their
Revolutionary War Pension. I have copies of both of these.
No family names were on either pension, unfortunately.
Note: There was no Rev. War Pension on Addison Scarborough in N.C.
since the Act of Congress granting a pension was not passed
until 1836. Addison died 29 Mar 1831 per your database, so
there are no pension papers unless his widow filed for same.
Since we know he had a 2nd wife and they married sometime
c1820-1830, she might not have qualified for a widow's pension.
His 1st wife Josie Howell was living in 1810. The family was not
found in the 1820 census records. In the 1830 Census records
the oldest female shown was of 30 & under forty. Could this have
been his 2nd wife Patsy Kelly? Or was it an elder daughter?
Only through further study and documentation can we determine
this.
